a- Case Scenario: You work in a radiology clinic and the radiologist has asked you to provide the clinic board with an analysis of perfusion weighted techniques. The board is considering upgrading the current MR system with a power injector and perfusion analysis package for DCE and DSC, and want to know whether it will be beneficial. Your report should include:
•Executive summary on the first page, with your recommendation and a brief reasoning as to why you’ve come to this conclusion (worth 3 marks)
•The main body of the report (less than 8 pages, not including references) which has
1.A brief introduction to perfusion imaging (i.e. What is DSC/DCE?)
2.What the proposed package does (i.e. How does the analysis work?)
3.Outline the pros and cons of the upgrade
4.Any training considerations for staff
5.Implications for new areas of application (if any).

•Technical considerations – clarity; logical progression; writing quality, spelling, grammar, figures and referencing (5 marks).

b-Case Scenario: You work in a radiology clinic and the radiologist has asked you to provide the clinic board with an analysis of diffusion weighted vs advanced diffusion techniques. Currently the clinic’s MR system has the ability to do diffusion weighted imaging in either read, phase or slice directions. They are considering purchasing additional software to do advanced diffusion imaging, which includes a diffusion tensor sequence with a Stejskal-Tanner scheme, plus calculation of Mean Diffusivity and FA, colour coded FA maps, orientation distribution functions and tractography. Your report should include:
•Executive summary on the first page, with your recommendation and a brief reasoning as to why you’ve come to this conclusion (worth 3 marks)
•The main body of the report (less than 8 pages, not including references) which has
1.a brief introduction to diffusion imaging in MR (e.g. how it works etc),
2.What the proposed package does (ie what is DTI and ODF)
3.outline the pros and cons of the upgrade compared to what they already have
4.any training considerations for staff
5.implications for new areas of application in CNS and body imaging (if any)
