Innovative Low Cost Single Family Housing

Paper, Order, or Assignment Requirements

  1. Introduction Paragraph: A single-family home is defined as a detached, free-standing dwelling. Although owning a home is a part of the American Dream, most Americans cannot afford to purchase real estate. Although the U.S. saw an influx of affordable housing after World War II, today many of those homes lack character, and due to the use of cheap materials, many of those homes are falling apart. Urban planners, city officials, architects and designers have begun to develop innovative single-family techniques to encourage housing diversity and density in single family zones. These techniques can also promote affordable housing options. Designers and architects are creating innovative, low cost, single-family housing by using inexpensive yet sustainable materials, implementing spatially economic floor plans, and by incorporating energy efficient systems and appliances in homes in new developments.

    2. Next Paragraphs:

Point # 1 of your argument: inexpensive yet sustainable materials
Talk about the inexpensive yet sustainable materials designers and architects are using.
Talk about how these materials make the home affordable to purchase.
Talk about how using quality materials helps the house withstand the elements, natural disasters and time.

Point # 2 of your argument: implementing spatially economic floor plans
Talk about how designers and architects are creating floor plans that allow for flexibility
Talk about how designers and architects are creating floor plans that allow for both privacy and communal areas
Talk about how every square inch of the home is functional. There is no wasted space, which means sometimes spaces have dual functions (study becomes guest room, etc.)

Point #3 of your argument: incorporating energy efficient systems and appliances in homes
This is important because not only will the home be affordable to purchase, but it will also be affordable to financially sustain. Homeowners won’t have to pay a fortune towards their electric bill or water bill. They can then allocate more money towards necessities, like food and clothing, and increase their quality of living. They may also be able to save money as opposed to living paycheck-to-paycheck.
Through the use of energy efficient methods, such as heating, cooling, daylighting and efficient appliances, low-income families are able to financially sustain the house.

    4. Last Paragraph: Conclusion.
Basically, restate your thesis and add some additional thoughts.
    5. Bibliography: You then need to create a bibliography. I have sent you many links to look at that teaches you to do so.
