CASE DESCRIPTION

ABC Technology Company is a small, California-based organization with 250 employees. The technology industry has displayed tremendous opportunity in the past decade and the company has the potential to grow double in size over the coming two years. The CEO is looking for a new Director of Human Resources to onboard in order to bring the growth to fruition. The company has experienced high turnover due to the nature of the work so staffing and retention are top on the list for concern. You have been chosen as a final candidate for the Director of Human Resources position because of your success and experience with other similar organizations. The CEO knows that without the right candidate there is great risk posed for ABC Technology. As part of your interview process, you must create a detailed human resources business strategy plan that will create growth and opportunity along with financial success for ABC Technology.

PROJECT INSTRUCTIONS

Human resource management disciplines are required of business professionals to ensure their organizations remain competitive in the national and global marketplace. The specific themes included in these disciplines are: human resources strategy and planning, recruiting, selection, training, evaluation, compensation, performance management, employee relations, and organizational policies.
For this project, you are to draw from human resources management concepts and theories. Your plan should include: strategy, planning, diversity, employee relations, and organizational policies to analyze the case of ABC Technology. In your 8-10 page double-spaced submission following APA guidelines, you are to:
Explain how human resource managers act as strategic business partners. State the key issue(s) of this case as a problem to be resolved, including issues associated with high turn-over, staffing, and retention. Explain how human resource managers act as strategic business partners through targeted policies and practices

Explain the policies, procedures, and practices of human resource managers. Articulate a strategic human resources business plan that will favor success for ABC technology. Identify and apply the following elements of human resource management to your plan:
a. Staffing and recruitment b. Compensation and benefit c. Training and talent management d. Employment and labor law regulation Identify the major disciplines of human resource management. Identify what you believe to be the key components to business success from a human resources standpoint. For example, you might consider employee, culture, motivation, management, components of compensation, etc. Summarize how a human resource business plan can improve business growth. Summarize how you would improve the business through your strategic human resources business plan. Explain how your plan clearly articulates growth and success (financially and culturally).
Remember: This analysis is your demonstration of applying key concepts using college-level writing. Make sure you follow APA guidelines and include at least ten outside sources (one of which may be your textbook) in your response.
