Developmentally appropriate Web Quest for their chosen grade level (PreK

Paper, Order, or Assignment Requirements

WRITER, is to create a Web Quest.
Please note that Web Quests must be an ORIGINAL creation and CANNOT be copied from other sources.
WRITER must use PowerPoint to create their Web Quest.

Web Quest Content Guide:
Candidates should create a developmentally appropriate Web Quest for their chosen grade level (PreK-3). The Web Quest should include YOUR NAME(S) as well as the following information:
1. Overview – Describe what the Web Quest is about. Specify content area and grade level. Specify goals and objectives (ideally tied to state curriculum standards or ISTE standards). List any additional resources that a teacher would need in the classroom to complete the Web Quest.
2. Introduction – Write an introductory page to your Web Quest that will give students the title of the Web Quest as well as some background information on the topic. Capture their attention!
3. Questions and the Task – What are the guiding questions that students should keep in mind in order to accomplish their task? What is the task the students must undertake? Briefly describe for students what they are expected to learn.
4. Resources – Identify for students what resources they may use to complete their task (e.g., other print materials, printers, software, etc.) as well as providing a brief description, and if necessary, tips on how to effectively use each of the websites (URLs) in the Web Quest.
5. Process – The step-by-step of the Web Quest. Describe what steps the students should take to accomplish the task, including any roles necessary for group or collaborative work. You can also provide guidance to the students about how they should organize or report the information that they gathered (e.g., flow-charts, papers, tables, concept maps, etc.).
6. Conclusion – Include a few sentences that summarize what students will have accomplished or learned by completing the Web Quest. You might want to also have some open-ended questions to extend their thinking into other areas.

The Web Quest Content is worth 60 points and will be graded on the following scale:

PowerPoint Presentation:
Candidates will also receive 40 points for creating a PowerPoint version of their Web Quest and Handouts of the PowerPoint plus any additional resources (certificates, worksheets, KWL charts, etc.) that are needed for the Web Quest:
1. PowerPoint Version of the Web Quest
2. Handouts –a handout of the PowerPoint can be created in PowerPoint 2010 by choosing Save and Send, and then selecting Create Handouts at the bottom of the list. You click on the square that says create handouts and then will be given different choices of handout formats. Once you select the format that you want, it will create a Word document with handouts of your PowerPoint. You can then save this Word document as a pdf file for posting on the forum. Any additional resources needed for the PowerPoint (certificates, worksheets, KWL charts, etc.) can be posted separately on the discussion forum.

The Power Point (Web Quest and Presentation) is worth 40 points and will be graded using the following rubric:
