ALTERBTIVE DISPUTE IN MEDATION

Paper, Order, or Assignment Requirements

• Students are expected to write a research paper related topic to mediation and its effects on criminal justice and/or criminology.
• Research papers are due by the 12th class.
• It may be necessary for you to read ahead in your book to understand some concepts required for completion of the writing project.
• If you do not know how to use APA citations/formatting, I would recommend purchasing an APA manual or locating an APA citation website. Not all citation programs or sites are created equally.
• Papers will be completed in the following format for Graduate Students:
o Length of the paper: between 8 – 10 pages (excluding cover page, references, appendices and tables)
o All papers must be submitted using Microsoft Word.
o Use ONLY Times New Roman 12 point font.
o Paragraphs should be double spaced with no extra spaces between paragraphs
o Do not use contractions or slang. (unless a quote)
o Page numbers should be included. Centered at the bottom of the page.
o The cover page should have your name, course title, title of paper, and date. This Information should be centered in the middle of the page.
o The criminal justice or criminology related subject will be of the student’s choosing.
o Paper is expected to use at least five sources from peer-reviewed journals, or as many necessary to fully explore the topic. Other additional academic sources will be required so the resulting number of your sources should be on average about 10. Wikipedia is NOT an appropriate source (in most cases) and should not be used!
o Papers will be examined using www.turnitin.com.
o An electronic copy of the final paper shall be emailed to the professor or submitted through Blackboard before the due date.
