“All men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.”

“That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed”

“That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.”

While Wollstonecraft is not directly concerned with the Declaration, to what extent does her work either support or critique these statements? Support your answer with evidence and examples from A Vindication of the Rights of Woman.

144 to 120 points: Your work does not fully address the prompt, use of examples shows at best a basic understanding of key ideas, and response may show some problems introducing or citing quotations or paraphrases. Written response has five to seven grammatical, mechanical, or stylistic errors; video presentation misspells or mispronounces five to seven important names or terms.
0 to 118 points: Your work does not address the prompt, use of evidence shows lack of understanding (or is missing), references may fail to adequately identify source material. Response lacks mastery of basic skills and makes numerous grammatical and mechanical errors.
