2. Identify the point-of-view in one story and argue why the author uses it in the story.

3. Choose one story and discuss the symbols the author uses and for what purpose theyre being used.

4. Choose one story and discuss the themes the author uses and for what purpose theyre being used.

5. Discuss the tone of one story and what the author is trying to achieve through the tone.

6. Discuss why one author uses setting the way he or she does.

7. Choose one story and discuss how the author uses irony and why.

Please note, this paper is not a report, so do not summarize the story; your audience has also read the story, so she/he already knows what happens. Your job is to point out your observations; however, keep in mind, this paper may not be written in first person!
